Revolutionizing Teamwork With Eric Coryell

In 2023, we worked through the book “Revolutionizing Teamwork” (we did a whole series of podcasts about it if you want to check that out), and in 2024, we had The Man Himself, Eric Coryell, the author of the book, on our show for a one-on-one chat.

Making Time for the Team

How do you make sure you’re getting quality time with your team?

We knew we nailed working collaboratively and supporting each other remotely during the pandemic, so, as we were preparing to add in-office days back to our routine in 2021, we set a goal to make sure our IRL experiences were special (and worth a commute).

One of the ways we did this was to schedule “Team Fun Time” every month.

The process is simple, and the outcome is a happier, more bonded team.

1. We set a 30-minute recurring meeting and stick to it. That meeting has shifted as we’ve had members of the team in college, out of the office, etc., but staying consistent has been key.
2. Everyone on the team takes a turn planning an activity of their choice. That way, we can all have fun, and one person isn’t saddled with the task of planning something every time.
3. We look for a mix of experiences, including in-person and online games, crafts, and other experiences, but we have some favorites we can fall back on if someone runs out of ideas. Sometimes just taking the team to the nearest coffee shop is enough to clear our heads.

Custom Designs That ROCK

How much would you love to check one thing off your 2024 to-do list? We can help!

When Simplicity CU was planning how to keep their members in the know and teams happy and relaxed during their switch to a new core processor, they asked us to design a shirt for the team that would have a Rock-n-Roll look.

Our designer, Kylie, put together this cool “tour” design featuring a custom graphic in Simplicity’s brand colors on the front and the key dates for their project on the back. Then Alex, designer and promo product guru, found this comfy t-shirt, got them ordered, and delivered to the Simplicity Team.

We think this is one design that’s fun, informative, and fashionable!
